Lyn pointed at a trunk laying beside Beth's feet. It was filled with extra Quidditch shin guards, gloves and helmets. "Help yourselves to some of the equipment." A broom rack holding broomsticks was located next to the trunk, a couple sets of Quaffles, Bludgers, and Golden Snitches waiting beside it to be unlocked for practice.

She began to introduce the sport while strapping on her gloves. "Quidditch is a sport played by the wizarding community. It is played on a Quidditch pitch with four balls by two teams of seven people. A team consist of four positions: three Chasers, two Beaters, one Keeper, and one Seeker. Chasers handle the Quaffle, throwing it into any of the three goal posts of the opposing team to score points. Each successful throw is worth ten points. Keepers defend the goal posts in hopes of preventing the opposing team from scoring. Beaters protect their teammates from Bludgers and try batting them towards players of the opposing team. The Seeker, although seemingly idle throughout the majority of the game, actively seeks the Golden Snitch until they are able to give chase. Catching the Golden Snitch not only earns the Seeker's team 150 points, but effectively ends the game."

As Lyn finished her short spiel, Beth held up a quill and a piece of parchment in her hand. "Please write your name, house, and all the positions you're interested in playing down,” she eagerly said before passing it to her right.

Ace took the quill and parchment from Beth with a bit of trepidation. What if I'm not good enough, or make a fool of myself?, he thought warily. He signed is name and house, Ace Germaine, Slytherin, and considered places he would be useful on the pitch. He was not the most lithe of boys in the fifth year. His shoulders had broadened over the summer, and he shot up four inches since last term ended, making him gangly yet substantial. Keeper would be good. I have a decent reach. Or, if I could work on my hand-eye coordination, Beater. Quickly, so as to not make any of the others wait he jotted down Keeper and Beater as potential positions and passed the parchment and quill on to his right in turn. He gave a small smirk, proud of himself for trying something new. Although he knew how to fly, doing so with more than just flying on the mind would be a good challenge, and hopefully enjoyable.

Magnus arrived in his quidditch attire, carrying his dad's old broom. He wrote: Magnus Lee --Gryffindor Chaser, seeker. Smiling he said, "Llo Beth, Lyn. So excited for this term." To the boy he didn't know, he waved, "Magnus Lee 'ere, Gryffindor."

While the young man was very Quidditch-oriented when it came to his time here at Hogwarts, he wasn't so sure about this club. On one hand, it would provide him with the extra practice. Who knows, maybe this club will teach him a new trick or two. On the flipside, this was unnecessary socializing. Did he really want to submit himself to the torture? Eros finally decided that it would be worth it. It was an opportunity to better himself. And he was all about being better when it came to Quidditch. He sighed. "No pain, no gain." The fifteen year old slowly strolled closer the pitch and to where everyone else was. Eros didn't say hi to anyone. He just silently waited until it was his turn to sign the parchment.

Eros Sigurd - Slytherin - Chaser, Beater.

After passing the parchment on, he grabbed some guards and started placing them on.

Ernessa strolled down to the quidditch pitch, broom in hand and eager to participate in another term of quidditch club. Taking the parchment from Eros she quickly scrawled 'Ernessa, Slytherin, keeper' then she thought she might as well try something new and added 'chaser'

Aderyn was going crazy trying to keep up with school work and clubs as it was, but as she watched people gather on the quidditch pitch outside her window up in the Ravenclaw tower, she just couldn't resist heading down. She'd been stuck up in the common room writing a potions essay for hours and she needed some fresh air.

Leaving her books where they were to return to later, Aderyn ran to her trunk and pulled on her most comfortable casual attire. She wasn't on the house team and hadn't yet invested in a proper quidditch uniform, so the clothes would have to do. Grabbing her broomstick, she raced out of the Tower and down the stairs, bursting out the front doors of the school and jogging over to the pitch where others had already gathered.

Smiling, Aderyn took the quill and parchment from Ernessa and scribbled in her information.

Aderyn Jones - Keeper - Ravenclaw

Gaia added her information on the parchment Gaia - Beater - Ravenclaw

Aderyn grinned at and nodded.

"I've decided that having a bit of fun here and there will be better for me than studying 'round the clock, so here I am! I can't wait to play!"

() "I agree! I am already stressing over stuff. I am ready to play and hit some bludgers." Gaia said while bouncing from side to side.

[img align=left]http://i.imgur.com/WXNEdXa.png?1[/img]Beth walked up to the trunk of Quidditch balls and grabbed a scarlet red ball about the size of a football. She turned toward the group of students and said, "This is a Quaffle. Like Lyn said only Chasers and Keepers handle this ball."

"Let's try a small catching exercise. We'll practice on the ground first. Who would like to go first?" Beth asked as she twirled the ball in her hands.

Ernessa raised her hands to catch the ball from Beth 'Throw it here!' she said, grinning

"I'm sure giving a few bludgers a good whack every once in a while will do miracles for the stress!"

Aderyn set her broom down as Beth mentioned a ground exercise, and stepped into a steadily forming circle of players. She was good at catching and was excited to get to use that skill in this drill. As Ernessa spoke up to catch the first toss, Aderyn waited with her hands up, her eyes on the ball, ready for any throw to come her way.

Magnus smiled and readied himself for the quaffle. It felt like playing catch on the streets of London with the Orphanage kids.

Although he was listening, he eyes never touched her. Instead, they remained down on his hand as he fixed his glove. It was probably for the better, since he rolled his eyes when she suggested a ground-bound catching exercise. However, he did look up to see who the enthusiastic first volunteer was. He didn't know her name but he recognized her as a Slytherin, too, having seen her around the dungeon.

Gaia joined the circle on the ground it was good to keep up with other position skills. Looking around the group she noticed one guy () she didn't know rolling his eyes and had to stop herself from glaring. "You know hitting bludgers is the best!" Gaia said with a giggle to Aderyn () and looked over at Magnus () "The irony of this exercise is if I actually drop the Quaffle while we are on the ground. I used to play volleyball with my muggle side of the family, but this is a whole new ball game." Gaia beamed at her lame pun and high five Magnus.

Magnus laughed at the bad pun. "Its like playing catch and baseball to me. Did that at me old muggle orphanage. What's volleyball like?"

Ernessa caught the quaffle in both hands, it was heavier than she had expected. She let out 'oof' 'Wow I really need this practice!' She saw Aderyn put her hands up and so she threw the quaffle to her

This was a good way to get acquainted with and get a feel for the ball, but Eros wasn't as enthused about it as the others. It was only the first meeting, though, so it was expected. He kept a stoic expression as he watched the Quaffle get passed.
